I was born in Loudon, Tennessee January 22,
1960. My father was in the Air Force and my mother was Irish. I spent a
lot of time in Ireland and all over the USA as a child. Thirteen schools by
eighth grade. I spent the last three years of high school in N.H. the
longest I was ever in one school. I graduated from The University of New
Hampshire at Durham with a BA in Communications and a minor in French. I
took Masters Level teaching courses from National University in San Jose
California and taught at Windmill Springs School District. I continued
part -time after the birth of my first son in 1986 as well as the birth of
my second son in 1988. My husband's job transfer to New Mexico ended my
school teaching but I got involved with Waldorf Homeschooling through the
Santa Fe Waldorf school and took many seminars and craft classes in
biodynamic gardening, handwork, storytelling etc. My daughter was born in
1993 and I started using the Oak Meadow Curriculum with my two sons. In
1998 we moved to Pinellas in time for my daughter to attend Barbara's
kindergarten. I was blessed to become Barbara's assistant that year. I
attended a three week session at the Rudolph Steiner Institute the next
summer under Jack Petrash on the Foundations of Waldorf Education as well as
completing work under Astrid Schmitt-Stegman in teaching History and Form
Drawing. The following year I assisted with handwork and whatever was
needed. I completed the one week intensive on teaching the first grade with
Eugene Schwartz and helped Barbara Bedingfield by teaching the First Grade
Main Lesson for a combined class until Mr. Davis was hired. I am presently
enrolled in the M.Ed program at Sunbridge College to complete my training.
